Welterweight Clash Added To UFC Fight Night: Japan

A welterweight division clash has been added to the upcoming UFC Fight Night: Japan card as Luke Jumeau is in action against Shinsho Anzai.

Jumeau (12-3-0) is currently undefeated under the UFC banner, having defeated Dominique Steele by decision at UFC Fight Night 110. Jumeau will also enter the fight on the strength of a seven fight winning streak and he hasn’t suffered a defeat in over four years. Jumeau has suffered three losses as a professional MMA fighter, with two of those losses coming to UFC veterans Jake Matthews and Li Jingliang.

Anzai (9-2-0) has won just one of two under the UFC banner, defeating Roger Zapata and suffering a defeat to Alberto Mina. Anzai is also a longtime veteran of the Pancrase promotion, winning all eight of the fights he competed at in the promotion. Anzai has earned a total of nine wins as a professional MMA fighter, with seven of those wins coming by KO/TKO.

UFC Fight Night: Japan takes place on Saturday, September 22 from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan with Mauricio Rua and Ovince St. Preux headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
