A women’s strawweight division fight is the latest addition to the UFC Fight Night: Japan card as Chan-Mi Jeon is in action against Syuri Kondo.

Jeon (5-1-0) is currently winless under the UFC banner, dropping a fight to JJ Aldrich by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 110. Jeon also held the Korean All MMA Association Women’s Strawweight Title, defeating Natsumi Sugie to win the gold in December 2015. Jeon has only seen one of her professional MMA fights go the distance, which was the aforementioned loss at UFC Fight Night 110.

Rose Namajunas eyes flyweight glory

Kondo (5-0-0) is going to be making her UFC debut in this fight and her undefeated streak as a professional MMA fighter has lasted just over a year. Kondo is the current Pancrase Women’s Strawweight Champion, defeating Kinberly Tanaka Novaes at Pancrase 287 in May 2017. Kondo has seen four of her five professional MMA fights go the distance, her lone non-decision win was a first round TKO finish in 2016.

UFC Fight Night: Japan takes place on Saturday, September 23 from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan with Mauricio Rua and Ovince St. Preux headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
