Grayson Waller: Maybe John Cena Needs To Come Sit Under My Learning Tree, I Can Tell Him How Things Run In NXT Now
John Cena is set to appear on the October 4 episode of WWE NXT.
Grayson Waller isn’t impressed. In a new interview with Busted Open After Dark, Waller criticized NXT wrestlers for marking out about the Cena announcement.
“I was backstage tonight when the graphic came out, you should’ve heard the kids, ‘John Cena is coming!’ It was so sad, it was tough. I felt like I was at a fan meet and greet or something, they’re all excited. It put a smile on my face too. I’m the only one here who’s been in the ring with John Cena twice. I’ve been on the mic against John Cena and I survived, not everyone does. All I hope for John is that next Wednesday, he wipes his feet and he knocks on the door and he asks me permission to come into my house. If he wants to get in my ring, he needs to ask permission too. I’m sure he’s maybe talking about this John Cena Classic, giving some NXT superstars an opportunity. Those opportunities, I’ve taken. Maybe he needs to come sit down under my learning tree and I can tell him how things run in NXT now.”
Continuing on, Waller joked that Cena wasn’t coming around to NXT when Tony D’Angelo was champion.
“It’s true, he’s coming down here because of what I’m doing. Was John Cena coming around the last year or so when Tony was champion? No, but he wants to come down here now. I guess it’s like, maybe it’s a championship celebration. Maybe he’s going to do a rap song for me or something, celebrate the fact that I run NXT now.”
