Adam Copeland speaks about getting the chance to wrestle in Maple Leaf Gardens, noting the lengths he thought he would have to go to.

At Maple Leaf Wrestling’s Northern Rising event on October 3rd, Adam Copeland would compete at the event against Steve Maclin, ticking off a bucket list venue that was at the top of his list. Copeland would walk away with the victory in the bout.

While speaking during a YouTube documentary from MLP, Adam Copeland would speak on getting the opportunity to compete in the Maple Leaf Gardens, noting he thought he would have to run his own show to make wrestling there a reality.

“This was easily the most important venue for me to wrestle in, over any other, over Wembley Stadium, over any of them. Maple Leaf Gardens has always been my one place that I wanted to get to. Here we are today. No, I never thought I’d wrestle in Maple Leaf Gardens. Between the fact that I had retired for nine years, and then even once I got my career back, just with the landscape of what wrestling is and where I was working, Maple Leaf Gardens was a pipe dream. I thought if I were going to ever wrestle there, I’d have to run my own show, and then Scott D’Amore and I, we started talking and realized, ‘wait, this is now a possibility now that I’m with AEW, we could actually do this.'”

Will Ospreay recently noted that he wants Copeland to save a date for him for a bout before he retires in 2027. You can read more about that here.
