Batista has showed off his progress of building muscle to play Kratos in the upcoming Amazon Prime series, crossing 250 pounds.

With the growth of his acting career in recent years, ‘The Animal’ had shed a lot of his muscle to improve his overall health due to not needing it for the roles he had been taking. However, in late August, he would be cast as Kratos in the God of War series being produced by Amazon Prime based on the iconic game franchise. This casting came after Ryan Hurst, who was announced as Kratos in January 2026, suffered a torn bicep on set that required surgery and would have delayed restarting production into 2027. In the weeks since being cast in the role, the former pro wrestler has been putting on pounds of muscle to portray the muscle bound Kratos.

In a new Instagram story posted on Sunday evening, Batista would share that he had hit another milestone on his road to building back up his muscle, as he has now crossed 250 pounds, gaining 20 pounds of muscle so far on his road to playing the iconic video game character.
