Charlotte Flair Confirms WWE Offers Counseling

Charlotte Flair has been presented on WWE TV as being perfect, but she has endured a number of personal struggles throughout her historic career.

While she is the most decorated female superstar in WWE history, off-screen she has gone through the tragedy of family loss, personal loss, divorce, expectations and heavy criticism.

Speaking to Stephanie McMahon on What’s Your Story, Charlotte opened up about her struggles and how she’s managed to let go.

“For some reason, I have it so ingrained in me that I am my dad. Every failure or similarity that I have with him, I’m like, ‘People are going to think I’m him.’ Not that I don’t want to be the greatest performer of all time, I do, but I felt like I had to make up for his mistakes or be perfect because I am his daughter. I just wasn’t living. I was living in this bubble that I wanted people to think that I am this way, when really my character or persona or championship is not what made me special. I am cool. Ashley is cool. Being okay with being myself and showing that on TV or asking for help,” she said.

She continued, “I would feel embarrassed or ashamed. It’s almost like I needed to feel that way. The guilt of my brother and him not being here, or the guilt of eight years of work, and I could’ve done it differently, but not living in the past. Self-reflection. Knowing I have more to give.”

Asked if she saw a therapist, Charlotte said, “WWE offers counseling. I was with Dr. Jada for three years. Really, when I met Scarlett and her family. She played a huge role in my perspective, but practicing gratitude daily. Say it out loud in the morning and at night. Constantly reminding yourself, ‘You are worthy. You are enough. You are beautiful.'”

Scarlett Guillen was a young fan who passed away in July after battling Diffuse midline glioma (DMG). She helped design Charlotte’s gear at WWE Survivor Series 2025.
