Chelsea Green Shares That Mick Foley Cried Tears Of Joy After Her Title Win At WWE SummerSlam

Mick Foley expressed how proud he is of Green.
After Chelsea Green won the Ladder match at SummerSlam to become the Interim WWE Women’s Champion, there were many wrestlers, legends, and personalities who sent congratulatory messages to her.
One of those names was WWE Hall of Famer and current AEW personality Mick Foley. Green told Complex Graps that Foley reached out after her win and told her that he cried.
“I got a text from Mick Foley the other day. Obviously, everyone knows I love Mick Foley. But, I didn’t realize how much this also meant to the old school guys. X-Pac said he shed some tears for me, Torrie Wilson was shedding some tears, Leilani Kai, Mick Foley… If you asked me 12 years ago, hey, will Mick Foley and X-Pac and Leilani and Torrie and all these Hall of Famers be texting you, telling you that they were crying? Sending you pictures of them crying!? I would’ve thought you were crazy. But, my character work got me here and that’s what a lot of them did. They used their character to get over and the fans pushed them and steered the ship and now, here we are. Here we are. 2026 and Chelsea Green is your Women’s Champion.” Green was asked which congratulatory message got the biggest reaction out of her, and she said, “I think when Mick and X-Pac and Torrie (told me) that they cried, that was a big moment like, oh wow, they see something in me too which a lot of them, they have told me that, I think because of the comedy aspect of what I do. They’ve shared that with me before but it was different. It was different this time…”
The current WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley underwent surgery for a meniscus injury. There is no word on whether Green will be declared the official champion.
