CM Punk: I’m Not Hiding On An Island Or In A Bubble, I’m Not A Pussy. I’ll Go To Raw And Boost The Ratings

CM Punk talks about potential challengers for his WWE Championship after WWE SummerSlam.
On the show, Punk defeated Cody Rhodes and retained his title. The Cult of Personality did receive some help from Randy Orton, Cody’s former mentor and friend.
Speaking on the WWE SummerSlam Saturday post-show, Corey Graves talked about Gunther and said he could be Punk’s next challenger. He asked for Punk’s thoughts on this.
“I’m the bell of the ball. I got a target on my back and I got the gold around my waist. There’s a reason I call myself the Best in the World. Everybody wants to be that. I am that. So come and get it, Gunther.”
He also commented on Orton, following The Viper’s SummerSlam return.
“I’m not stoked what Randy did. Randy’s a snake. Randy wants some, he can get some. His dad Bob can get some. Randy’s mom wants some? I’ll slap her too. I don’t really care.”
Punk later mentioned Trick Williams and had words for other members of the roster.
“Trick Williams, whoop that trick. I’ll give some to him too. CM Punk is here. I am a target and I welcome every single archer who wants to shoot a bow and arrow at me. Bring it on. I’m not hiding on an island. I’m not hiding in a bubble. I am not a pussy. Let’s go.”
Later, he was asked about his thoughts on the number one contendership match between Sami Zayn and Finn Balor tomorrow at SummerSlam Sunday.
“Hey listen, I just wrestled a friend of mine, Cody Rhodes. Finn Balor is somebody who I consider a friend. Sami Zayn not so much. As much as I would like Finn to progress, I don’t know if I want to wrestle a friend again when I could punch Sami Zayn in his stupid loud mouth. He wants to say all these things, all these cool buzzwords. Oh, I’m a hypocrite. I’m a fraud. Brother, you’re following in my footsteps echoing the same things that I sat down cross-legged on a stage in Las Vegas 15 years ago to open up doors for little jerks like you. I did it, and I paved the way. If you won’t show me some respect, I will beat it out of you. I don’t care who wins that match tomorrow. I’ll see him Friday in Philly. I’ll go to Raw and wrestle. They need the ratings boost. Let’s go.”
Punk also talked about Rhodes potentially getting a rematch for the WWE Title.
“I think the odds are very good. Obviously, he deserves one. We saw the RKO. We saw the ref down. I didn’t see it. Run it back. I don’t care.”
He then asked the fans who they wanted him to face next. The fans chanted Oba Femi’s name.
“Give me names. Somebody from AAA. Mini Vikingo. Dominik. How about Grayson Waller? How about somebody from TNA? Huh? Where’s Arik Cannon at? Oba? You want Oba? I want Oba. Listen, Oba Femi, without a doubt, is the future. That does not mean that I am not the present. Be careful what you try to open underneath the Christmas tree. You may not like what you get. Oba is fantastic. My experience trumps his ability. Oba hasn’t picked what champion he wants to go after. If he wants to wallow in obscurity, go after Roman. If you want to live under the bright lights, come after the real champ.”
Elsewhere in the post-show, Punk also talked about not being the main event of SummerSlam. Fans can read his full comments here.
