Cruz Montana (Mike Santana) Says His New Ring Name Is A Tribute To His Late Father

Cruz Montana is honoring his father.

After arriving in NXT on July 21, Mike Santana took to social media on July 27 to confirm that Cruz Montana is his new character name in WWE. As is the case with most name changes, fans were quick to voice their opinion on social media.

Now, just a few hours later, Cruz has revealed the meaning behind his new name.

“CRUZ MONTANA. A name I put together as a tribute to honor my late father. Who I’ve always made sure to keep as close as possible to my journey. Losing him 6 years ago, is what sent me on the spiral that I’d eventually rise from, to become the man you see today. And today, that man ADDICTED TO GREATNESS. Here’s to this next chapter. LETS GET IT!”
