David Sahadi: Kevin Nash Would Schmooze Dixie Carter And Tell Her TNA Would Be Number One

Dixie Carter and her family helped save TNA Wrestling in 2002 by investing in the company. Though she stayed behind the scenes in the early years, she started growing more of a presence on screen and in decision making over the years, bringing in more and more ex-WWE and ex-WCW stars who didn’t provide return on investment.

On Dark Side of The Ring, former TNA producer David Sahadi and former TNA creative member Jim Cornette recalled Kevin Nash working his magic on Dixie.

Sahadi: I’ll never forget the time when I was sitting next to her and Kevin Nash at the bar at Universal Studios. Kevin is just schmoozing her because his contract is up.

Cornette: There’s Nash sitting right next to her, pouring her another glass of wine. ‘Here you go Dixie, let me tell you again all the things you need to know.’

Sahadi: ‘Dixie, you know what I can’t wait for?’ ‘What?’ ‘I can’t wait until we become number one and we can go tell Vince, go fuck yourself.’ That’s what Dixie wanted to hear.

Both noted that many ex-WCW talents would tell Dixie what she wanted to hear and that they would end up getting what she wanted.
