In late 2018, he revealed that he was diagnosed with a spinal tumor and ependymoma. He returned to the ring in 2022, winning the MPW Tohoku Junior Heavyweight Championship and LIDET UWF Championship, but stepped away again in 2024 when his cancer symptoms returned.
He did compete in an exhibition match in June 2025.
While he has made his home at Michinoku Pro, he has competed for GLEAT, Pro Wrestling ZERO, NJPW, and more promotions across Japan.
Fightful will provide more details on Hayato’s return when they are known.
