Gisele Shaw Says TSN Deal Is Like A ‘Cherry On Top’ For Maple Leaf Pro

Gisele Shaw is having a great time in Maple Leaf Pro.

For nearly 400 days, Shaw has reigned as the company’s Canadian Women’s Champion. Throughout that time, she has defended the title against names like Deonna Purrazzo, Shotzi Blackheart, Kylie Rae, and Killer Kelly.

Speaking with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp for a new interview, Shaw talked about her title reign and how she loves the pressure that comes with it.

“It is so special to be able to step in the ring with these women, first and foremost. These women are at the top of their game and to be able to get in the ring with them, not only makes me level up myself, but we go in there and we want to make sure that we’re just going to crush it. It’s a partnership. I’m just so thankful that they’ve been so kind and gracious and we just beat the crap out of each other out there, to be honest. It’s so crazy to me when you tell me these things, it’s like, ‘Oh, my God, you’ve beaten these people.’ It’s so fantastic, right? But also at the same time, I don’t think about that stuff because I always say you’re only as good as your last match. So to me, I’m like, ‘Okay, cool, that’s done,’ and then the next match I’m like, ‘Okay, cool. Now how can I top that? How can I do it better?’ It’s a lot of pressure, but I love pressure, let me tell you.”

Continuing on, Gisele Shaw spoke about Maple Leaf Pro’s upcoming television deal with TSN in Canada.

“It’s so cool. MLP obviously is a legacy first and foremost and it’s really, really cool to have a wrestling promotion, like a major wrestling promotion here in Canada. We’ve never had that really. I think that having MLP here in Canada and having the spotlight on it per se, it’s a platform for Canadian wrestlers. They have something to work hard for now and they go, ‘Hey, you know what? That’s the goal, to be on there.’ It’s the best of the best. Then you take that roster and then you put them against the best of the best in the world. Wrestling here in Canada has always been top tier and can rival any wrestlers all over the world. Having that TSN deal is just like cherry on top, as we would say, and we’re just getting started. I can’t wait for what the future brings and I’m not privy to all, but I’m very excited. I think everybody should be excited to go on this roller coaster ride with us.”
