“Handsome” John Anson passes away at 77.

On Saturday (August 22, 2026), F4WOnline reported John Anson’s passing. Anson was a retired Canadian wrestler who made his debut back in 1966 with Stampede Wrestling. He wrestled for nearly 20 years before retiring from the business in 1983.

Anson was also known for playing the role of a German heel as Karl Von Schotz alongside his tag partner, Kurt Von Hess.

Over the course of his career, Anson won numerous championship belts across different promotions such as Stampede Wrestling, Big Time Wrestling, and more.
