Jake Roberts Quit Smoking Five Weeks Ago, Is Working Towards A Procedure To Get Himself Off Oxygen

Jake Roberts provides an update on his health.

On November 3, Roberts took to social media to address fans about two separate topics, one of which included an update on his health.

Speaking about being on oxygen, Roberts revealed that he quit smoking five weeks ago. In order to get off of oxygen, he has to undergo a procedure — one that can’t be done unless he avoids smoking for six months.

“Second thing is much more serious. It’s about me on oxygen. Yes, I’m on oxygen. Why? Because I was a fool and because of genetics. Genetically, I was given an emphysema and COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease). Like a fool with bad habits that I picked up along my way, smoking. I smoke for fifty frigging years, man. But I quit. I quit five weeks ago. I’m sticking with it. No brainer, right? There’s a procedure they can do, but you’ve got to be clean for six months before they do it. They will help me get off oxygen. So, thumbs up. We’re all good here. Going to be around for a long time so get used to it. You have to put together a different kind of list, I guess a survivor list. See you around.”

Back in October, Jake Roberts said that Tony Khan needs to “loosen up the reigns” and “take some advice” when it comes to AEW creative. Check out his full comments by clicking here.
