Janel Grant Lawsuit Against Vince McMahon And WWE To Enter Private Arbitration
The lawsuit filed by Janel Grant against Vince McMahon and WWE is headed to private arbitration.
All parties agreed to privately arbitrate the matter, which was previously approved by the court.
“Pursuant to the Court’s July 13, 2026 order, ECF No. 151, Plaintiff Janel Grant, Defendant World Wrestling Entertainment, LLC, and Defendant Vincent K. McMahon (together, the “Parties”) jointly report that the Parties have executed an agreement to arbitrate their dispute. Pursuant to that agreement, within five business days, Plaintiff shall execute and cause to be filed a Stipulation of Voluntary Dismissal with Prejudice causing the action to be dismissed in its entirety, as to both remaining defendants, but without prejudice to the Parties’ rights to pursue their claims and defenses in arbitration.”
The lawsuit being dismissed with prejudice means the plaintiff is barred from ever refiling the same claim in the future.
McMahon and WWE have been pushing to move the case into arbitration, citing the arbitration clause in the nondisclosure agreement Grant signed with McMahon in 2022. Grant had argued that the arbitration provision shouldn’t be enforced and that she was coerced into signing the NDA under duress.
Janel Grant, a former WWE employee, filed a lawsuit in January 2024 against Vince McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis. The lawsuit accuses McMahon of sexual assault and sex trafficking. McMahon resigned from TKO/WWE following the lawsuit being filed. Laurinaitis has since been dropped from the lawsuit.
