JBL On Vince McMahon: ‘I Just Can’t Believe That A Guy That Worked 24 Hours A Day For So Long Can Simply Retire’

JBL doesn’t think Vince McMahon can just retire from wrestling.
For many decades, Vince McMahon controlled WWE’s creative. He would retire from the company back in June 2022, before returning the next year. After Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against him and WWE, Vince would step down from his position on the TKO Board of Directors and TKO Executive Chairman.
Speaking on Something to Wrestle With, Conrad Thompson discussed the update on Janel Grant’s lawsuit against Vince McMahon and WWE. JBL shared his thoughts on the same.
“Very happy. I like Vince, and I had no idea of the veracity of the case. I didn’t hear any of this when I was there, does not mean that all of it might not be true. I have no idea of the truth of what is true, what isn’t. I just know Vince is a friend of mine, and this doesn’t sound anything like him. People are obviously going to take me to task over that. That’s fine. He’s my friend and I’m very happy that it’s dismissed.”
Later, JBL said that he couldn’t believe someone like McMahon could just retire.
“I hope Vince does something left in the business. I just can’t believe that a guy that worked 24 hours a day for so long can simply retire and go tour around Italy. I don’t think that’s in Vince’s DNA. So I’m excited to see what he does next.”
The legal representatives for Vince McMahon, Janel Grant, and WWE recently filed for a voluntary dismissal of the lawsuit. Fans can read more about it here.
