Jeff Cobb Admits WWE Run Could’ve Gone Better, But Cherishs His Experiences

After years of making his name on the independent scene and NJPW, Jeff Cobb joined WWE at WWE Backlash 2025, aligning with Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, and what turned into the MFTs.

After less than a year with the company, Cobb, who performed under the name JC Mateo, was released.

Speaking to Denise Salcedo of Instinct Culture, Cobb was asked about his WWE run.

“I’m not going to lie and say everything is bright and rosy. I grew up a WWF fan. Hulk Hogan brought me into wrestling. Seeing him was awesome. That’s my dream job. It’s not everything I thought it would be, but who am I to complain? It’s not my company. I was sought after, saying no to them four times and then saying yes on the fifth is a cool notch in my belt to say that, coming in on my terms. It could’ve gone better. There are so many people I could blame, but I’m not going to do that. Why get all angry about something I can’t control? I just have to be happy about my time there, and I did take a lot of good things away from that. I had a fun time while I was there. Could things have gone in a better direction? Of course, but I’ll always cherish my time and experiences,” he said.
