Layla El comments on what names catch her eye in modern WWE, admitting that she usually tunes out of the product outside of Mania season.

Layla has long retired from the world of professional wrestling, having last wrestled for WWE back in 2015. Despite her long time away from the industry, she still keeps up with the industry when WrestleMania season comes around.

While speaking to Denise Salcedo in a new interview, Layla El was asked if she keeps up with the WWE product weekly, noting that she does not unless it is coming up to WrestleMania season.

“I don’t, honestly, I don’t do weekly, I’ll be honest with you, but I always, like, start watching around, like, the WrestleMania time because that’s my favorite. Especially when the Royal Rumble is coming up, stuff like that. That’s when I really start watching. But I still keep up to date with, like, social media these days because you get to see, like, you know, little clips everything stuff like that. So, I’m not such an avid, like, watcher, but I will tune in, especially if there’s someone who catches my eye.”

The former Divas Champion was then asked if there was anyone on the roster that has so far caught her eye.

“I love Chelsea Green, love her. She reminds me of the Diva era. You know when you can just see someone willing to do anything for the business, she just goes out there and entertains. Charlotte Flair is phenomenal. Becky Lynch is phenomenal. Naomi… Even Rhea Ripley, she’s a flipping superstar. All of them, I’m in awe of all the women right now. I’m so happy for the evolution of women’s wrestling. I’m a supporter, and just happy to watch women’s wrestling progress, and in the next five, ten years, I just can’t wait to see it.”

Elsewhere in the same interview, Layla spoke about wanting another singles match with Michelle McCool. You can read more about that here.
