Liv Morgan Reveals The Origins Of Her Oblivion Finish, Says She Was ‘Just Playing Around’ When She First Tried It Out

Liv Morgan has revealed the origins of her Oblivion finishing move, noting that when she decided to use it, she had just been ‘playing around.’

Morgan’s finish, The Oblivion, was a move that she began using the move back in 2020, with it now becoming a signature of her matches given her success at the top of WWE’s card over the course of the past several years.

While speaking to ESPN in a new interview, Liv Morgan would reveal the origins of her finishing move.

“I was just training. I was just training at the Performance Center for a couple weeks and sometimes I’ll see something and it’ll spark inspiration in a roundabout way and I think I’d seen like a move similar and so I was like let me just try and play around with like what I can do. I wanted something that I can hit on everyone no matter what and kind of like out of nowhere and so I was just practicing around in the Performance Center and I did the Oblivion for the first time and someone that was watching was like, ‘what is that?’ I’m like, ‘I don’t know!’ They’re like, ‘it looked really, really, really great.’ So I tried it on an un-televised match and it got such a sick reaction, and I was like, ‘oh, that’s like my new finish’, and so that’s really just what happened. I was just playing around.”
