Mercedes Martinez Suffers Torn ACL During ‘Last Run Tour,’ Announces End Of In-Ring Career

Mercedes Martinez wraps up her in-ring career.
2026 was going to be Mercedes Martinez’s last year as a full-time wrestler. She was working independent dates as part of her ‘Last Run Tour.’
Martinez posted a video on her social media pages and shared that in mid-August, she suffered a knee injury during a match and has since learned her ACL is torn. Martinez then stated that her in-ring career is over.
“We are just about three-quarters of the way into this Last Run Tour, and about two weeks ago, I injured my knee in a match against Allie Katch for 2CW, August 15th. Two doctors later, an MRI later, the prognosis is torn ACL. For most, it’s probably not a career-ending injury but for me, it is. So I humbly — and am heartbroken to even say this — but, that’s the end of my wrestling career. This was the year, as everyone knows, was going to be my last year full-time, meaning that I wasn’t going to wrestle every weekend; that even once a month, maybe special occasions after this year. I wanted to give back to women’s wrestling. I wanted to do this my way and give 110 percent and give my body to wrestling and I did just that. My body was definitely hard to recover but I did it.”
💔 With a heavy heart, the #LastRunTour is over.
Aug 15 @2CWrestling, knee gave out during my match w/ @AllieKATCH.
Torn ACL. Surgery tbd.
Thank you to everyone who has reached out and supported me.
Not goodbye to wrestling. Just goodbye to the in-ring portion.

Martinez then took to Instagram and wrote the following message:
“With a heavy heart, I have to share this. 💔
Aug 15 at @2cwrestling, my knee gave out during my match with the incredible @thealliekatch. The match was stopped to prevent further injury.
Outcome:
TORN ACL on right knee.
I’m currently on crutches and in a temporary knee brace until surgery.
Right now, my heart is broken. My spirit and mental state are low.
The #LastRunTour is officially over.
As an independent wrestler, this is my full-time job, and I don’t have health insurance. All of these medical expenses are out of pocket.
If you’d like to support me, please consider grabbing some merch from my Big Cartel shop or a T-shirt. Links are in my bio. Ill.be updating the merch later. Every purchase helps with the growing medical bills.
Thank you to 2CW, Allie Katch, Cedric Alexander, the EMTs, the locker room, and every fan who has reached out. ❤️
Your love and support mean more than you know.
This isn’t goodbye to wrestling. Just a goodbye to the in-ring portion.
All my love,
Mercedes Martinez”
Martinez had been wrestling for nearly 30 years. She’s made her way through AEW, Ring of Honor, WWE, TNA, and a multitude of independent promotions.
