Mercedes Moné Def. Thekla To Retain AEW Women’s World Title At WrestleDream

Mercedes Moné holds onto the gold.

The first championship match of the night at All Elite Wrestling’s 2026 WrestleDream pay-per-view was Mercedes Moné defending the AEW Women’s World Championship against former Women’s World Champion Thekla.

It was Moné’s second defense of the belt.

Towards the backend of the bout, Moné took off her faceguard for her broken nose and hit Thekla with it. She then went for the Moné Maker, but Thekla countered out of it and went for a pin that got her a two-count.

Moné would eventually hit the Moné Maker on Thekla to retain the championship.
