Nearly Average Wrestling Announces Arcade-Style Fighting Game: “NAW MERCY”
LOS ANGELES, CA – The Comedy Wrestling Universe of Nearly Average Wrestling (NAW), created by actor and comedian Shane Hartline (The Pitt, Station 19, Obi-Wan), is expanding with a brand new video game, NAW MERCY. The game is being developed in partnership with Leroy Patterson of TACKBOARD GAMES. Gameplay will feel similar to a traditional arcade fighting game format and will feature an original soundtrack with music from The Jim Johnstons, Kyle Helf, and more!
Inspired by classics like Mortal Kombat and WrestleMania: The Arcade Game, NAW MERCY will bring the bizarre world of NAW’s live shows and Twitch streams to life through over-the-top combat, outrageous characters, and the absurd humor synonymous with NAW.
Players familiar with the NAW universe will recognize characters from NAW’s live events and weekly Twitch broadcasts, alongside recognizable faces from the wrestling world at large, including independent superstars such as EFFY, Shane Haste, and more. NAW MERCY is designed to grow, with new characters and special appearances to be added over time.
Players can expect up to 4-on-4 gameplay, a story mode, unique special moves, destructible environments, and plenty of surprises inspired by the ever-expanding NAW universe.
While NAW MERCY is still in development, the initial rollout will be exclusive to NAW Patreon subscribers, giving established fans first access to beta-test the game, provide feedback, and actively help the development team refine the experience ahead of its eventual public release on Steam.
The official teaser trailer for NAW MERCY is available on NAW’s Instagram page, @nearlywrestling, and on Shane Hartline’s YouTube channel.
