Nigel McGuinness reacts to losing in the AEW Continental Cup finals to Jon Moxley at AEW All In this past Sunday.
At AEW All in this past Sunday, the AEW Continental Championship would be on the line in the finals of the Continental Cup as Jon Moxley faced off with Nigel McGuinness. Nigel would come up just short, losing by submission after being inches away from reaching the ropes.
While speaking in a digital exclusive posted to AEW’s social media following the show, Nigel McGuiness would reflect on his loss.
“I said if I was going to lose, it would haunt me forever… but the reality is, far from being haunted, I feel as though I exorcised the ghost of my fear of failure. My fear of not doing enough, not being enough. Thirty-four years ago I sat out there where everyone was sat. Today, I hope you will forgive me it’s here. Thirty-four years later a dream only imaginable to that young boy just came true. Moxley’s still the Continental Champion but I will go on to fight another day. I’m really looking forward to getting back behind the commentary desk.”
