Nixi XS Says Hunter Hearst Helmsley Was Her Favorite Wrestler Growing Up, ‘I Love Commitment To A Bit’

Nixi XS has taste.

Many young wrestlers will often have similar answers when they are asked to name some of their favorite performers when they were growing up. In a new interview with Joel Pearl of Fightful Overbooked, Nixi XS changed course a bit and got specific when talking about some of her early favorites.

“My favorite wrestlers growing up were Shawn Michaels and Triple H. But, in particular, Triple H in between the years of 1995 and 2002. Even more specifically, 1996 Triple H, Hunter Hearst Helmsley. Ribbon in the hair, Ode To Joy walking to the ring. Extremely campy, extremely stupid. I love commitment to a bit. It sounds ironic, but I find genuine joy and passion in watching people that are just given a prompt and they have to commit to it. Some people take their prompt and it’s stupid and they just give up on it. Some people try really hard and I’m a try hard. I don’t know Triple H, but I’m a big fan of 1996 Triple H. That’s peak try hard. You have the dumbest gimmick you are handed, but you’re going out and doing it. I was like, what’s my stupid gimmick going to be? What’s my thing gonna be because I want to sink my teeth into something. What’s my Ode To Joy?”

Elsewhere in the interview, Nixi spoke about sexuality in wrestling and how she wants to promote it in a positive way. Check out her full comments on the matter by clicking here.
