Queen Aminata: I Don’t Think People Give Mercedes Mone Enough Credit. She’s Amazing

At AEW Grand Slam France, Queen Aminata challenged Mercedes Mone for the AEW Women’s Championship.

Though Aminata came up short in her efforts to win her first title in AEW, she learned a lot from the match.

Speaking on CMLL Informa, Aminata was asked about having a role model in wrestling, and she noted her match against Mercedes.

“Growing up watching wrestling, I didn’t really have a role model, so I just wanted to make myself my own role model. Now that I’ve faced her in Paris, after that match, something stuck in my head. I want to be as good as this woman is. She is amazing. I don’t think people give her enough credit. I feel like I’m a different wrestler because of that match. It was in France, and I grew up in France. Of course, it’s the one and only Mercedes Mone. I want to do it again. I really want to wrestle her again. She’s amazing,” she said.

Aminata is set to challenge Persephone for the AEW TBS Championship on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite.
