Report: CM Punk Planned To Return As Part Of WWE SmackDown

An update on the status of CM Punk.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reports that the current plan is for CM Punk to return to the WWE SmackDown. The report goes on to state that the planned direction is Punk vs. Cody Rhodes, the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion.
An exact date for his return was not given.
CM Punk has been off television since the Raw after WrestleMania, where he said he wasn’t going anywhere despite losing the WWE World Heavyweight Title to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 42. He was confronted by Rhodes in the segment, who said that any time Punk wanted a title shot, all he had to do was ask. Punk was regularly on Raw before WrestleMania.
