REPORT: El Hijo del Vikingo Underwent Surgery For Torn ACL
El Hijo del Vikingo to be out for the foreseeable future.
It had been confirmed by El Hijo del Vikingo that he would be undergoing knee surgery. The specifics of his injury were reported on by Dave Meltzer.
“Right now the expectation of El Hijo del Vikingo, who underwent surgery for a torn ACL on 7/7, is that he will be out of action for about nine months. Vikingo was Latin American champion and with the injury, the title is vacant.”
Vikingo had been reigning as the AAA Latin American Champion. AAA General Manager Rey Mysterio announced that the title is now vacant and details are going to be shared on the 7/18 AAA on FOX about how they will crown a new champion.
PWInsider reported that Vikingo suffered the injury while preparing for his Latin American Title defense on NXT.
