Rhea Ripley Says WWE WrestleMania 42 Program With Jade Cargill Started ‘A Little Bit Rocky,’ Reveals She Pulled Groin Before Match

Rhea Ripley touched on the WrestleMania program with Jade Cargill.

One of the title bouts on the bill for WrestleMania 42 was Jade Cargill defending the WWE Women’s Championship against Rhea Ripley.

Going into the match, Ripley joined Stephanie McMahon for a recording of McMahon’s What’s Your Story? podcast. That episode has been released, and Ripley stated that the program with Cargill started a bit rocky. Early in the program, the two had a social media exchange during which Cargill accused Ripley of spending hours talking to WWE creative. Ripley did not take the comment well, which led to other WWE talent chiming in.

Ripley said the following on Stephanie McMahon’s podcast:

“I’m excited for this WrestleMania. I really am… I’m going against someone that I never wrestled before. I’ve never even touched pretty much. We haven’t done anything up until this point. She beat my ass a little bit but, we haven’t really done anything. Started a little bit rocky but we’re on a path now and we’re telling a story and I’m intrigued to see how it goes and just pull off an awesome WrestleMania match. I want this to be a cool moment…”

Ripley also shared that she was not 100 percent going into the match because she had pulled her groin.

“I have stitches and I pulled my groin a little bit… It’s so annoying. So I know I’m not 100 percent but I’m gonna try and be and adrenaline is a wild drug.”

Now WWE Women’s Champion, Ripley, is on the SmackDown brand. She is currently aligned with Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. They are up against Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley & Lainey Reid).
