Rohan Raja: Bret Hart Is Such A Sweetheart, I Don’t Think Many People See That Side Of Him

Rohan Raja details his relationship with Bret Hart.

As it turns out, Hart has a solid foundation with a number of independent wrestlers in Canada. One of those performers is Rohan Raja, an emerging talent that is currently making waves in Maple Leaf Pro.

Speaking with Fightful Overbooked’s In The Weeds podcast, Raja talked about his connection with Hart.

“I first met Bret when I worked a dungeon show, Dungeon Wrestling. His son runs it in Calgary. That was around 2023, I wrestled Chris Masters at the time. That was the first kind of proper time I met him. Every time I’ve been back there, we’ve developed a nice connection. One of my best friends in the business, his name is Mo Jabari. He’s kind of like Bret’s protege, Bret kind of helps him with a lot of things and stuff. We have that kind of mutual connection too. But yeah, every time I see Bret, he takes so much out of his day just to kind of chill and talk to me and ask me questions. When they say the stuff like don’t meet your heroes, Bret, I have nothing but good things to say about Bret. He doesn’t get enough credit with how much he [cares] — even with fans.”

Raja also shared a story about a fan encounter with Bret Hart at his bar, describing him as an absolute sweetheart.

“We went to this, he had this Hitman’s Bar of course. It’s a Bret Hart themed bar in Calgary. After the shows, we would go to this section, it’s kind of closed off. As soon as we leave, the fans are in the bigger area. When we start walking through there, everyone’s trying to grab Bret and talk to him. His wife has to come and grab him because she’s like, ‘Bret, we have to go home.’ He stops and talks to everyone. He’s such a sweetheart and I just don’t think many people see that side of him. How he’s asked me even about my family and stuff and how he remembers things, he’s just such a sweetheart.”
