Simone Johnson (Ava) Says One Particular Thing Didn’t Lead To WWE Departure, ‘I Don’t Regret Leaving’

Simone Johnson (Ava in WWE) joined WWE in 2020, following in the footsteps of her dad, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
Johnson had a handful of matches, but found a role as the general manager of NXT beginning in 2023. She announced her departure from the promotion in January, and tweeted the following day, “and now that I can say this with my full chest, 🖕🏽 ice and that entire administration.”
Speaking on The Downside with Gianmarco Soresi, Simone was asked about her departure and if there was a particular reason.
“There wasn’t one particular thing, unfortunately. It was a lot of things and something that had been on my mind for a while. I am so grateful for my time in WWE. I wouldn’t change it for the world. I got to live out the dream. It was time for something new and different. I don’t regret leaving and I’m really happy now,” she said.
Elsewhere during the interview, Simone shared an unaired promo that reference Donald Trump and Iran. You can learn more here.
