Steven Borden: I Spent My Whole Life Running From Wrestling, But It Eventually Caught Up To Me
Steven Borden is set to make his in-ring debut on a pay-per-view at AEW All Out when he teams with with Darby Allin at AEW All Out.
In a new vignette, Borden, the son of Sting, said, “I have spent my whole life running from professional wrestling, but it eventually caught up to me. Then it stared right back into my face … and pulled me in.”

Speaking to Renee Paquette on Close Up, Borden gave more insight into how wrestling pulled him in.
“My whole life, it was something that I was pushed away from. Not in a bad way. I think my dad wanted something different for me. So I played football, and at some point, I feel like I was so removed from it that I almost didn’t even know what wrestling really was,” he said.
Steven was involved in an angle with the Young Bucks ahead of AEW Revolution, and then played Wolfpac Sting at Revolution.
“I started to get a little bit more involved as he was approaching his retirement because it’s like, ‘Man, this is something that’s really important to my dad. This is his whole career. I’ve been so removed from it for my whole life.’ We were at the Phoenix show. We got involved a little bit leading into Revolution, and then being there at Revolution, I started to see what this business actually was, and see also some of the different sides of it that I hadn’t understood as a kid. Watching my dad, realizing he’s been in the business for decades, and those same decades are gonna fly by for me. If there’s something that is pulling me into it, I think I need to stop running from that, and I probably did run from it for a long time,” he said.
Borden & Allin will face Kevin Knight and Kyle Fletcher in a number one contenders match for the AEW Tag Team Titles.
