Professional wrestlers all have their own unique way that they come up with their ring names for their career, with a majority of them coming from a personal connection that the talent has in their lives. For The Miz, he is no different.
While speaking to Q104.3 in a new interview, The Miz credited his friends back home in Ohio for his ring name.
“They’re the ones that started it. Yeah, I mean, when I was growing up as a kid, you know, my last name is Mizanin, and there’s tons of Mikes, right? So it was always like, hey, Miz, hey, Miz, hey, Miz, hey, Miz. And so now, like, I have now, yeah, I mean, they’ve called me it since I was a kid, and I still have all my friends from high school. We always meet up. We have fantasy football, which I’m dominating in right now, feeling pretty confident about myself.”
