The Miz Says He Initially Wanted Hollywood Undead For His WWE Theme
The Miz says he wanted a Hollywood Undead song for his entrance music in WWE.
One of the most recognizable entrance themes in modern history has been ‘I Came to Play’ by Downstait. The Miz has used this song for over a decade on WWE programming.
Speaking with the Battleground Podcast, The Miz was asked about Nick Aldis coming out to Oasis during Night 1 of SummerSlam and whether there was any band he would like for his own entrance.
“When I first wanted a theme song, I wanted Hollywood Undead right when ‘Swan Songs’ came out. It was brand new song. Nobody really heard it yet. I like to find underground songs that no one else sees, and then they become popular. So I kind of found that. I gave them that and then that’s how ‘I Came to Play’ came to fruition. They’re like, ‘We can’t get that.’ Because back then, we didn’t get like Living Color or Oasis. We had to get some band that was unknown which was Downstait. But now they’re very well known because everyone stole off me.”
