The WWE Champion CM Punk recently cut a promo about not being the main event of SummerSlam Saturday where he sounded a bit frustrated. More details about that are available here. One of the people who liked this promo was The Miz.

Speaking on WrestleRant in a new interview, The Miz talked about CM Punk’s promo after Night 1 of SummerSlam. He liked that version of Punk.

“I think promos can be special. I thought CM Punk’s promo last night (SummerSlam Saturday) after the show was very special. I don’t think people give him… They give him enough credit on how he talks and the way he speaks. That’s off the top of the head. Not only does he still have it, I was watching that going, ‘Man, you know what I want to see? I want to see the CM Punk with a chip on his shoulder.’ (Interviewer says, ‘You don’t think, we haven’t already seen that?’) No. You don’t remember CM Punk like I remember CM Punk. I was there, and that CM Punk was lethal. …I remember when he left, like right before, I remember the feeling, the way he was. He was not happy at all. Now we see CM Punk in interviews wearing a suit, I’m like, ‘Man, it’s almost like [Corporate Punk].’ I was like, ‘I want punk Punk.’ I felt like when I saw that promo, I was like, ‘Ooh, I like this Punk.’ I like a Punk that’s not the main event, that should be in the main event, that knows he deserves to be in the main event, that’s paved the way and just deserves to be where he’s at. Now he’s letting people know.”
