Tony Khan Provides An Update On The Status Of Willow Nightingale
On the May 20 episode of AEW Dynamite, Willow Nightingale announced that she was injured and had to vacate the AEW TBS Championship.
She also had to pull out of the Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament due to the injury.
Speaking on the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door media call, AEW President Tony Khan was asked if there was any update on Willow Nightingale.
“We’ll be following Willow’s progress in the weeks to come as she’s recovering. We’re all looking forward to her return, which I think will happen relatively soon,” he said.
Tony said he would have loved to have Willow in the tournament and competing at Forbidden Door, but it was good to see her at the “Supergirl” premiere alongside Harley Cameron.
Mercedes Mone took Willow’s place in the Owen Hart Tournament. A new AEW TBS Championship will be crowned on the July 1 episode of AEW Dynamite.
