Tony Khan Says He Has No Interest In Purchasing TNA For $40 Million

Rumors have circulated that TNA Wrestling could soon be for sale, with sports business analyst Blake Avignon reporting, “Anthem’s Len Asper has set a $30M floor for a potential sale of TNA, with his preferred price in the $40M – $50M range.”
On the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door media call, AEW President Tony Khan was asked by Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics if he had any interest in potentially purchasing TNA.
When Tony asked Brandon to set a price, Brandon named $40 million as the rate.
“No,” Tony said with a laugh.
He gave more color, saying, “It has value. It would have to be the right price. The video library has a lot of great wrestlers over the years. Certainly not the top priority for me as an acquisition right now. It’s not something I’ve had any serious conversations about. Like a lot of things in life, it could be an interesting purchase if the price was right, but isn’t that true of so many things in life? There are a lot of excellent automobiles that I would love to have in my garage, but it would depend on the price. At ($40 million), no, absolutely not.”

The premium reflects toxic debt on Anthem’s books that any buyer would be expected to absorb. No deal is imminent, but the number is out there.… pic.twitter.com/mKflPggRHt
