Ricochet: It’s Kind Of Criminal How Quickly Will Ospreay And I Put PAC Tribute Match Together

Ricochet comments on his most recent match with Will Ospreay.
As a celebration of PAC, Ospreay and Ricochet went head-to-head once again on the September 30 episode of AEW Dynamite. The match was widely praised, with some fans even crowning it as one of the best matches in company history.
In a new interview with The Takedown on Sports Illustrated, Ricochet noted that he and Ospreay put together the match with ease.
“Honestly, the match kind of helps you. The match helps the day go by, because not being able to think about your match, you’re stuck thinking about sad times basically. So at least for me specifically, having something that I could put my mind towards and kind of, not turn off my emotions but you have to focus on this otherwise you’re going to get hurt. Having something like that to focus on for the day, I think that helped. But at the same time, I think especially with Ospreay and myself, as much as I hate him [laughs], Ben/PAC was so intrical to both of our careers — we’ve been around him and we’ve wrestled him so many times that we kind of already had in our mind how we were going to go about it. The hardest part was going to be to just go out there and do it. It’s funny, it’s kind of criminal how quickly he and I got all that together. It’s kind of criminal how quickly he and I were like, ‘Oh yeah, okay, well I guess that’s it, I’ll see you later.’ Because again, we worked so well together and we just knew Ben so well. Yeah, it was just going out there and putting on for the people that we knew we’re going to be there and appreciate it. Being able to have the match actually kind of helped the day go by a little smoother as sad as it was.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Ricochet talked about the current state of the locker room in AEW. Check out his full comments by clicking here.
