The biggest AAA Lucha Libre event of the year finally has a date.
During a press conference on May 18, AAA Lucha Libre announced that Triplemania XXIX will take place on August 14 with limited capacity in attendance at Arena de Mexico.
It was also confirmed that Kenny Omega will defend his AAA Mega Championship against Andrade. The bout was set up at AAA Rey De Reyes, with Andrade appearing and challenging Omega for the title. Omega responded that he's a busy guy and needed time to think about it.
Also official for the event is Deonna Purrazzo vs. Faby Apache in a champion vs. champion bout. Purrazzo is the reigning IMPACT Knockouts Champion while Apache is the Reina de Reinas Champion. Purrazzo issued the challenge at Rey De Reyes and Apache quickly accepted.
In the main event, Psycho Clown and Rey Escorpion will battle in a mask vs. hair match.
