AAA's La Parka Injured In Mexico; Taken To Hospital For Surgery To Repair Fractured Vertebrae

Unfortunate situation for La Parka.

Lucha Libre AAA star La Parka (not LA Park of MLW), was taken to the hospital after suffering a serious injury during a four-way match against Rush, Murder Clown, and LA Park while wrestling for Kaoz Lucha Libre's 64 Anniversary Arena Coliseum event in Monterrey. The injury occurred when Parka attempted a suicide dive onto Rush, but his feet got caught on the ropes. Parka came up short on the dive, smacking his head on the concrete outside the ring. Rush and ringside officials immediately checked on Parka, who laid on the floor seemingly unconscious. He was taken away on a stretcher as the match continued.

Lucha Central reports that Parka could not feel his legs and the injury was feared to be a neck fracture, though that was not confirmed. Parka did regain mobility in his limbs and was in stable condition at the hospital. Luchablog reports that he underwent surgery on Monday morning. He is currently out of surgery and recovery.

According to SuperLuchas, Parka was diagnosed with a neck and cervical fracture and the surgery done on him was to relieve pressure from the fracture vertebrae and repair it.
