AAW Promotion Issues Statement About Being Final Pro Wrestling Show At Berwyn Eagles Club

AAW’s statement about the situation.

Berwyn Eagles Club in Berwyn, Illinois, has played host to a multitude of independent wrestling promotions such as SHINE, SHIMMER, and AAW.

Ruthless Pro Wrestling ran an event at the Eagles Club in late March, and there was an incident where a fan allegedly attempted to stab former MLW World Heavyweight Champion Krule a.k.a. Mads Krule Krügger with a knife. Footage was captured of fellow wrestlers beating up the fan in an attempt to protect Krule.

It has since been announced that Berwyn Eagles will no longer be hosting pro wrestling events after April 24th. That April 24th date is reserved for AAW’s ‘Crush & Destroy’ show. AAW has been running shows at Berwyn Eagles Club since the promotion launched in 2004. AAW released the following statement about the situation:

From AAW Management regarding The Berwyn Eagles Club news earlier today:

“Crush & Destroy on April 24th 2026 will be the FINAL EVENT at the Berwyn Eagles Club.

It started with AAW in February of 2004 and it will end with AAW on April 24th. Tickets are limited as there will be an attendance cap due to town regulations.

There are thousands of memories within the walls of this venue and it has had such a powerful influence on what you see on tv today. We hope to have you all join us for a final one on 4/24.

Everyone at AAW is saddened by this turn of events but we will deliver a last incredible show in Berwyn only as AAW can! Let’s have a great time together!”

GCW owner Brett Lauderdale was informed of the Eagles Club no longer hosting pro wrestling when he learned GCW’s June 20th show would not be happening there. Lauderdale called the Ruthless Pro Wrestling situation a ‘fake stabbing.’

It was relayed to Fightful Select by a number of people at the show that no knife was spotted during the situation.
