Always compared to industry greats, Ace Austin believes he is creating something special in his own way.
Speaking with Justin Barrasso of SI Wrestling, the IMPACT! Super X Cup winner was asked about AJ Styles and how he feels about being associated with the former TNA Star. Styles, a six-time X Division Champion, has gone on to have success all around the world, most recently holding the WWE United States Championship. Austin gave the following reply:
“I’m constantly compared to AJ Styles, and I’m compared to the best because I am the best. But it’s like your earlier question. I’m compared to him, but I am not in his shadow. I’m creating something special my own way.”
AJ Styles can currently be seen every Monday on WWE Raw. He has won his last two matches, defeating Ricochet and Randy Orton, respectively.
At IMPACT! Sacrifice on Saturday, March 13, Austin defeated TJP to win the X Division Title for the second time in his career.
