Ace Steel On CM Punk's Return To WWE: I’m Very Proud Of Him For Showing The World Who The F*ck He Is

Ace Steel comments on his exit from AEW and CM Punk's return to WWE.

Steel has been one of the talks of the wrestling world over the past year, as the former producer was involved in the backstage brawl between CM Punk and The Elite (Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks) following the AEW All Out media scrum in 2022.

Steel was let go from the company shortly after this incident before being re-hired in May 2023 to work for the promotion in a remote capacity. Steel was then again let go from AEW in September 2023 following the company's decision to fire CM Punk earlier that month.Punk was involved in another backstage altercation at the AEW All In event at Wembley Stadium.

While speaking to Wrestling With Rip Rogers for a new interview, Steel talked about his exit from the company, noting that his wife is the only one that could tell the story due to the fact that many others involved in the situation are not allowed to talk about the incident.

“Well, I worked with a lot of great people, some great, some not so much. Family still exists in this business, there are things none of us can say, and none of us will, you know, I think my wife’s the only one who could probably tell the story since she was there. Maybe someday. You don’t fuck with family. We came out just fine. You might hear something; I’m sure it’s gonna be on fucking Dark Side of the Ring someday; I laughed at the time, going, ‘All this shit’s gonna be on Dark Side of the Ring someday,’ you know, someone’s going to want to know.”

Steel then went on to talk about CM Punk's recent return to WWE, which occured at the Survivor Series premium live event in November.

“I’m very proud of my number one student that I’ve ever coached in the world for heading back to show the world who the fuck he is… The reason people hate him or whatever is he’s not about the bullshit, and the guy doesn’t take shit, and he doesn’t take it lightly. And when you’ve had enough shit, you either explode, or you take care of business yourself, and you defend yourself.”

CM Punk is set to sign with either Raw or SmackDown on the December 11 episode of WWE Raw. Fans can see the full lineup for that show by clicking here.

Steel reportedly worked a producer for IMPACT Wrestling during Bound For Glory weekend in October. Fans can learn more here.
