A hobbled Adam Cole returned at AEW Full Gear, distracting The Gunns (Austin Gunn & Colten & Gunn) as they attempted to win the ROH Tag Team Titles from MJF & Samoa Joe.

The distraction allowed Samoa Joe to put Colten in the Coquina Clutch for the victory. A delighted MJF gave Cole a big hug after the bout.

MJF and Joe then shook hands, signifying MJF will live up to his part of the deal of giving Joe an AEW World Title match.

The celebration was short-lived for MJF as he was attacked by the Gunns. Joe had left and Cole was unable to help due to his injury. The Gunns went after the knee of MJF, slamming a chair onto his knee. He was taken out on a stretcher and loaded in an ambulance. MJF made Cole promise that they would not take away his title.

MJF is scheduled to defend his AEW World Title against Jay White in the main event of AEW Full Gear.

This marks the third defense by MJF with the ROH Tag Team Titles and the first with Samoa Joe. MJF won the titles with Adam Cole at AEW All In and has continued to defend the titles with Cole sidelined due to injury. It is unknown when Cole will return to action.

Joe stepped up to be MJF's partner on the condition that he would receive a shot at the AEW World Title.
