In April, WWE crowned New Day as the greatest faction in WWE history in an article that appeared on their website.
While New Day certainly has an argument, Undisputed ERA also has a claim as they've run roughshod over NXT for over 1,000 days now, accomplishing all there is to accomplish during their time on the gold brand. And UE leader Adam Cole would welcome a challenge between the two groups to prove who is the greatest.
"When I think about New Day and Undisputed ERA, since UE formed, people have fantasized this idea of the two teams clashing. Leading up to Survivor Series, there was some time where UE was getting in there with New Day. I know the Undisputed ERA vs. New Day is something I would love to see, I know for a fact New Day feels the same way, and I know fans all over the world would love to see it," Cole said on WWE's The Bump. "We're in the discussion for greatest faction of all-time, we've proven that with our tenure and run. This is even more of a reason why I want Undisputed ERA vs. New Day. In modern times, factions are few and far between. So many people compared New Day and Undisputed ERA, that's why this match needs to happen so we can settle it."
If a match between Undisputed ERA and New Day doesn't take place, maybe the two teams can settle the "greatest faction" debate in a different way. Kyle O'Reilly is the most famous air guitar player in WWE, but Big E has also shown off his air strumming skills as one-half of the SmackDown Tag Team Champions.
"I would pay big money -- air guitar off; Kyle O'Reilly vs. Big E. It'd be fantastic. But the winner, unanimously, would be Kyle O'Reilly. All respect to Big E," said Cole.
Maybe Undisputed ERA or New Day can take advantage of the new brand-to-brand invitation and use one of their four appearances to finally give fans the air guitar showdown between two of the greatest of all-time.
