Adam Copeland And Christian Cage Roll Back The Years With Win At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door

Adam Copeland and Christian Cage turn back the clock at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2025.

The tag team formerly known as Edge and Christian successfully reunited in the opening match of AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2025. Adam Copeland and Christian Cage defeated the team of Kip Sabian and Luchasaurus. Although they have had a tense relationship since Adam Copeland joined AEW in 2023, they were able to tap into their chemistry as a team, utilizing old tag team maneuvers, such as their Sidewalk Slam x Reverse DDT combination. In the end, they picked up the victory with a Flapjack x Pop-Up Spear combination on Kip Sabian.

Adam Copeland and Christian Cage had not teamed together on pay-per-view since 2001. They had not teamed together at all since 2011.

Originally, this match was supposed to feature Nick Wayne in the place of Killswitch, but he suffered an injury. Learn more here.

Copeland and Christian have agreed to continue their alliance until Copeland can get his revenge on FTR. After that, it depends on what Christian is willing to commit to. He did not commit to hugging Adam Copeland after the match at Forbidden Door, but he did shake his hand several times.
