Adam Copeland Believes Christian Cage Has Made The TNT Title More Important Than The AEW World Title

Adam Copeland talks about the importance of the AEW TNT Championship ahead of his first time challenging Christian Cage for the title.

Adam Copeland and Christian Cage are scheduled to have their first singles match against each other in over a decade on the December 6 episode of AEW Dynamite. The match will be for the AEW TNT Title, something Copeland believes is the most important thing in Christian's life right now.

Speaking with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Copeland also revealed that he believes Christian has succeeded in making the TNT Title mean more than the AEW World Title, currently held by Maxwell Jacob Freidman.

“It’s the title that’s the most important thing in the world to Christian,” said Copeland. “When the title is involved, that should always be the lynchpin of a story. It should hold enough significance to break up a friendship.

“That has been lost in a lot of cases over the years, but I appreciate how he’s made the title important. His goal was to make it bigger than AEW world title. At this point, I believe he’s done it.”

Adam Copeland hasn't held a singles Championship since forfeiting the World Heavyweight Championship upon his 2011 retirement. Copeland has never held any major championship for a televised promotion outside of WWE.
