Adam Copeland Says Exchange With Ricky Saints Was ‘Like 1000 Promos In The Attitude Era’

On the October 14, 2023 episode of AEW Collision, Adam Copeland and Ricky Starks (Ricky Saints in WWE) got into a promo exchange that seemed to get a little heated.
Copeland said that Starks took his style from The Rock, and then called him a “vanilla midget version” of The Rock. Starks said that really “sent him over the edge” before turning his attention back to Bryan Danielson.
The moment appeared to be off-script and there was rumored heat between the two after the exchange.
Speaking to Shakiel Mahjouri of SHAK Wrestling, Copeland was asked about the segment and the fallout.
“We got out there, he started cutting a promo on me, and I’m like, ‘I’m not in an angle with him. Okay.’ That was it. It was like 1000 promos in the Attitude Era. By the next day it was, ‘Now what do we have?’ I don’t….I’m sure Ricky doesn’t, I don’t care,” said Copeland.
On a recent episode of WWE Raw, Saints was asked about having an edge, and said, “Don’t talk to me about an edge.” Fans can read what was going through his mind here.
Copeland will defend the AEW Tag Team Titles alongside Christian Cage against The Dogs (David Finlay & Clark Connors) at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
