Adam Copeland Says He Had A Chance To Wrestle John Cena Again When He Was Still With WWE

John Cena vs. Adam Copeland (Edge in WWE) was a feud that defined the Ruthless Aggression era as the two men took each other to new heights.

Cena is now on his retirement tour, finishing his in-ring career in December. Copeland is with AEW, but Cena gave him a shoutout in his match against Sami Zayn, hitting a spear on Zayn.

Speaking on Rock 95 Barrie, Copeland was asked if there was part of him that wishes he could be present for Cena’s retirement run and share the ring with him one more time.

“No. We had a chance. I was still there and it just didn’t feel like it was going to work out. I also think there is part of it where, you remember it really fondly. You get us in there now and it would be different. It would be a lot more storytelling and it would be a different way of presenting us, which may throw people off. It did what it did, and people still talk about it, so it accomplished what it should. Who knows. If you see another, would it leave the best taste in your mouth? I don’t know. I’d like to think that John and I, we’d make sure it did. I’ll be watching from a distance and hoping he does great,” said Copeland.

Cena and Copeland last wrestled in a singles match in 2010.

While making the media rounds, Copeland commented on Cena using the spear on SmackDown. You can find his full comments here.
