Adam Copeland Says Original Plan For Judgment Day Was To Have Group Turn On Him After A Year

Things changed quickly for Judgment Day.

Adam Copeland (Edge in WWE) was the original leader of Judgment Day as he recruited Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley to join him. Following WWE Hell in a Cell, Finn Balor was introduced as the newest member after facing Judgment Day at the premium live event.

Balor's inclusion spelled disaster for Copeland, who was attacked by Balor, Priest, and Ripley.

"It was odd because that's all I knew. Just in terms of me coming in and out, I miss a lot of things. I come back and go, 'Oh, this is happening now,' and just trying to wrap my mind around that," Copeland told Chris Jericho on Talk Is Jericho when asked about Vince McMahon coming and going in regards to WWE creative.

"When we were doing Judgment Day, the plan was Balor joins and about a year later they all turn on me. I get to Hell in a Cell and it was, 'No, we're changing everything and we're speeding up that year long process and he's joining tomorrow and turning tomorrow.' It was just starting to find some legs, but it was going to be swimming upstream with me. I started to have that realization of 'they're not going to get where they need to get to with me in this thing,'" he said.

Copeland previously commented on how Judgment Day was swimming upstream with him. You can find his comments on the matter by clicking here.

Judgment Day is still going strong in WWE with Dominik Mysterio joining the group at WWE Clash at the Castle 2022 by kicking Copeland in the dick.
