Adam Copeland reflects on getting the chance to wrestle and team with Christian in All Elite Wrestling.
Since making his debut with the promotion at AEW WrestleDream 2023, Copeland and Christian have been paired together, first as rivals before reuniting as tag team partners to take on FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) at AEW All Out earlier this year.
While speaking to Jimmy V3 in a new interview, Adam Copeland spoke about the highlights of his run in AEW so far.
“Since I’ve been with AEW, I’ve been able to get in with so many people that I’ve never worked with, and there was one week there where I wrestled Brody King in a No DQ match and then wrestled Kyle O’Reilly like two nights later in a completely technical wrestling match, and that for me was just, that was why I went to AEW. Now getting to team with Jay (Christian) and then also getting to face each other properly with the experience that we have under our belts now with a company who treats us as equals. I think that was important, and then we both wanted that, and I feel like we finally got it. So all of that has been super special, and again, neither one of us were told we’d ever be able to do this again. So the fact that we’re even doing it period, but then to wrestle a team like FTR on our hometown, because that’s a match that is a wrestling fan, and even for the four of us, if we could ever do that, man, that would, that would be pretty amazing, and then we got to do it. Um, so again, everything, it’s pretty darn special.”
Elsewhere in the same interview, Christian maintained that he did not say I Quit in the pair’s match together. You can read more about that here.
